LEGAL PROTECTION

COSTA RICA values the ability the TRADEMARK and the rest of distinctive signs to promote free and fair competition, and to inform and protect the consumer.  

For this, it has a trademark legal protection system comprised by a specific legislation (Law No. 7978 of Trademarks and Other Distinctive Signs) respectful of the CUP, ADPIC and TLT International Treaties, a registry system specialized in the matter (Registry of Industrial Property) and other judicial organs (administrative and ordinary) necessary to guarantee the good use and exercise of the trademark and other distinctive signs.
